The BIG Joint

At last, we have a new BIG JOINT. Not that there was anything wrong with the old joint ( though it is looking a little fagged out). We did have a replacement but that was lost in a scuffle with the police who "bogarted" our joint and wouldnt give it back. So Jab, heart broken from being called the "Dennis Connor" of the Big Joint, determindly vowed to build a new one, and whats more it would debut in front of a world audience at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras!!! Well Jab was as good as his word, and he constructed a new joint, 42 feet long. He used salvaged parts from our last big joint plus some bamboo,and a huge skin made from hemp cloth which local artist Eslpeth Jones painted with a beautiful peace dove , rainbow colours, and the message GOOD MEDICINE emblazoned along its side

The Big Joint looked spectacular at the Mardi Gras in Sydney, smoke billowing out from a smoke machine inside the joint, the evergreen Gunja Fairies dancing out front as the speakers blasted out the latest hit in Nimbin "Tetra Hydra Cannabinol" (soon to be released) The theme of the float was to show that Cannabis is good medicine for many people, especially those with wasting diseases such as AIDS and cancer. It was one if the most colourful floats in a very colourfull parade. Once again the Big Joint has done Nimbin and Cannabis law reform proud. It will again be out and about for the annual Mardi Grass protestival parade 4th and 5th of May 2002
